Sant Gora Kumbhar, also known as Goroba, was a Hindu sant associated with the Bhakti movement and the Varkari sect of Maharashtra, India. He was a potter by trade and a devotee of Vithal. Gora Kumbhar lived in the village of Satyapuri, now known as Goraba Ter in Osmanabad district, Maharashtra. He is believed to have been a contemporary of Namdev and lived between approximately 1267 and 1317 CE. Gora Kumbhar's family had a religious and virtuous background, and they worshiped the village deity Kaleshwar. Legend has it that all eight of Gora Kumbhar's children, who had died, were revived by Lord Pandurang. Several motion pictures have been made about the life and devotion of Gora Kumbhar, including films in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Marathi, and Gujarati languages.
